Guesthouse Skeið is located in Tröllaskagi in a quiet place deep in valley Svarfaðardalur, surrounded by mountains and 18 km away from town Dalvík.
Tröllaskagi is a specially good place for those who want calm and peace. In Tröllaskagi and surroundings you can find interesting walking trails, whale watching, kayaking, horse riding, golf, ski resorts and many more. Tröllaskagi is a paradise for mountain skiers.
The guesthouse is located near many interesting places. For example it takes only 2-21/2 hours drive to Myvatn and Krafla and 1 hour to drive to Akureyri. In the winter time we recommend to be travelling by 4x4 cars if possible.

Tröllaskagi is a rugged peninsula, which lies between Skagafjordur and Eyjafjordur. It´s a maze of mountains, rivers and number of miniature glaciers. Ideal hiking country, maps available.
History and Culture
The museum's collection comprises thousands of items. The natural history collection contains a large number of Icelandic birds and mammals, the most popular of which is the polar bear.
There are exhibits on a number of people from the district who became nationally famous, such as Jóhann Pétursson, known as "the Giant", and president Dr. Kristján Eldjárn.
One room at the museum is dedicated to the earthquake that struck Dalvik in 1934 (6.2 on the Richter scale).
