Many of Island´s most acclaimed artist have resided and created artwork for Lónkot such as Katrín Sigurðardóttir, Páll á Húsafelli and Örn Þorsteinsson. In Sölva Salon many renowned artist have exibited their work to name a few Helgi Þorgils, Sigurbjörn Jónsson, Páll á Húsafelli and Pétur Gautur.
Akureyri Backpackers, hostel

Lamb Inn
Only 10 kilometers south of Akureyri in the peaceful and quiet countryside lies Ongulsstadir guesthouse. The accommodations are  located in a former cowshed, the rooms are lively and bright. The breakfast buffet is served in a spacious and cozy dining hall which used to be a barn. It is possible to order supper, typical Icelandic cuisine made from local ingredients. All this and more to be found on our menu. Möðrudalur is the highest settled farm in Iceland, 469 meters ( 1548 feet) above sea-level. It has been inhabited since early settlement in Iceland. Möðrudalur has served as a presbytery for centuries. The builder of the church in Möðrudalur was Jón A. Stefánsson (1880 - 1971). He was a great farmer as well as an artist and the altarpiece is made by himself. His son was Stefán ,,Stórval" Jónsson (1908 - 1994), a one of a kind character and a painter. The panorama view from the farm is interesting in many ways - judge for yourself. For campers, and RVs we offer stays throughout the year depending on weather. Last but not least we sell Icelandic woolens and handicrafts made by local people as well as some snacks.

Baccalá bar is a restaurant in Hauganes on the west bank of Eyjafjordur bay, only 25 km from Akureyri and 12 km from Dalvík. Inside the beautifully decorated Restaurant and on the porch, shaped like a Viking ship which has the most magnificent view of the Eyjafjordur bay, you’ll find a selection of great icelandic dishes for the whole family. Rub23 is an Icelandic restaurant that uses ingredients from Icelandic fishermen and farmers . Ingenuity from Asia and America. We specialize in seafood and have a wide variety of fish species and a wide selection of sushi dishes mixed with steaks and desserts. What makes the restaurant unique both in Iceland and internationally is the varied way in which the menu is put together, including homemade spice mixtures that customers can choose from, the so-called RUB. RUB has become a well known term for spice mixtures that are either put onto or rubbed into food, as the name indicates. The customer can first choose a particular ingredient, for example a special type of fish or meat and then choose from a list of spice mixtures those he wishes to try. Kerlingarfjöll Highland Resort
Kerlingarfjöll are one of the natural pearls of Iceland, located in the highlands, between the Glaciers Hofsjökull and Langjökull. The area is accessible by road no. 35 (Kjölur road) from both north and south, from Kjölur road the access is via road F347.The Kerlingarfjöll area, being area of approx. 100 KM2 is a mountain cluster, rising 500 – 700 M above the surrounding central highlands plains. The mountains are standing on a large system of calderas, which was active some 70.000 – 300.000 years ago. The area can be described as a cluster of rugged mountains with steep hills and sharp lines, that due to their age have not been affected by the eroding forces of the nature. Within the mountain cluster there are geothermal areas that are amongst the larger in Iceland. Rhyolite and obsidian are types of rocks that characterize the appearance of some of the mountains, making the area extremely colourful and heaven for those who wish to hike or spend their time in landscape not frequently seen elsewhere.The Kerlingarfjöll highland resort, offering accommodation ranging from sleeping bag in dorms, to accommodation in double bed rooms with private facilities and shower. The resort has fully licenced restaurant. The camping site is located on the banks of the river Asgardsa in the valley Asgardur that is in the northern part of the mountains. The site has showers and a steam bath. The steam bath is located 1km from the camping site. Also there is a playground for the kids.

Gamli bærinn Laufási
Laufás is a renowned church site and chieftain‘s residence from the settlement (874-930). Laufás church was built in 1865, among its special items is a pulpit from 1698. The current farmhouse is a good example of a wealthy vicarage from 1853-1882 furnished with household items and utensils from the period. One of Laufás´ s characteristics is the bride´s chamber where women prepared for the big event. At the Visitor Centre you will find plenty of information about nature and history of the countryside, a handcraft and souvenir shop and a café in a cosy atmosphere. Laufás is part of The National Museum‘s Historic Buildings Collection and managed by Akureyri Museum. Mývatn Nature Baths

Hannes Boy is a unique but homey restaurant that offers a cosy and romantic environment at Siglo´s marina village. It is located in the bright yellow house by the marina in Siglufjordur. The restaurant Hannes Boy is named after a local legend and fisherman. The Icelandic menu, including our signature salted cod and an excellent lamb dish, is an excellent choice for those wanting to relax in a cosy environment and enjoy the beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and marina. Hannes Boy opened in 2010 and is an excellent place to enjoy finer dining. The restaurant is open every day during the summertime, from June until the end of August. During wintertime, it is mostly open for groups or special occasions.   Hannes Boy is one of Siglo Hótel´s three local restaurants. Gjóska is an Icelandic design company run by the teacher and textile designer Birna Kristín Friðriksdóttir and her husband the farmer Guðbergur Egill Eyjólfsson. They live on the Farm Brúnagerði in North Iceland, where Gjóska‘s workshop is located but they also run a shop on Skólavörðustígur 20, downtown Reykjavík. On the farm they run a petting zoo where guests can enjoy Icelandic farm animals like horses, sheeps, puppies, kittens, goats, geese, ducks, and chickens and more. The Beer Spa
You lie in a bathtub for 25 mintues, filled with beer, water, hops and yeast. After that you go into a relaxation room for another 25 minutes. Beer yeast is used in various ways, the most common, is a tablet form where the effects of the yeast are very benefitting.  Beer bath, where you bathe in both young beer and live beer yeast, without showering it off until some hours later, has an extremely powerful effect on the body and skin. This treatment is both cleansing for the skin and has a very positive effect on health. The are seven tubs and we can accommodate up to 14 people every hour, as people can choose between going in the tub with another person or alone. There is no age limit for the bath itself, as the bathwater does not include alcahol. The draughts, that are on the side of eact tub, are only for those who have reached the age of 20 years. Children younger than 16 years have to be accompanied by an adult.
