Langhus Horse Farm

Langhus horse are situated on the countryside in the middle of Northern Iceland, not far from the villages Sauðárkrókur, Hofsós and Siglufjörður. We offer personalized horse tours, tailor suited to your wishes and background, 1-6 hours long, with a variety of trail options. We live in a beautiful area with green valleys and stunning mountains, by a fresh water lake and the black beaches of the North Atlantic ocean. We offer riding tours for both beginners and experienced riders, we have good quality horses for everyone. We put emphasis on flexibility, fun and safety, the tour is at the speed, length and difficulty level that is fun for you, on horses that are good for your riding level. You can get riding instructions, and you go on the tour with a local farmer as the guide, and can learn about the nature here, the culture on the countryside, how we live with the climate and the landscape, and how it has shaped the wonderful Icelandic horse. Horses are the passion in our family, we breed and train horses, and keep our well trained horses in good shape for all the fun things we do on horseback, the horses are talented with top pedigree, schooling and background, and we invite you to join us on a ride with our dear friends, our horses.

We have run a horse-related service for people from all over the world since 1997.

Towns & Villages

Society and the economy have many faces. Whereas agriculture is the mainstay of rural areas, the towns depend upon fishing, industry, trade and a range of services, with each village having its own characteristics though they all prove hospitable hosts.
The availability of food and accommodation and the possibilities at every location for recreation and entertainment make hopping between the villages informative as well as fun.
In every case, the residents are lively and ready to celebrate.
