Snow Dogs

Dog sledding in Iceland is a unique experience and is a great winter activity. Snow Dogs offers dog sledding tours and Kennel visit by Lake Mývatn, North Iceland.

Come and meet our unchained Siberian Husky sled dogs and experience the sport of dog sledding. Visit the pack at our kennel and get to know how joyful, intelligent and gentle they are. Get to know their love to pull and work and of course to cuddle and play.

We have created a unique sled dog environment where we emphasize respect for the dogs and focus on their well being.

We keep them unchained so they can socialize in fences at our kennel. In our kennel are about 20-25 dogs so we can give each dog a lot of attention.

Snow Dogs welcomes families with children all ages. And people with special challenges.

We start our dog sledding tours from our farm Heiði. Heiði is located close to Lake Mývatn, north Iceland. In late April and May when snow is melting from the area around our farm and Kennel at Heiði, we will move our tours to higher grounds were there is good snow.

Towns & Villages

Society and the economy have many faces. Whereas agriculture is the mainstay of rural areas, the towns depend upon fishing, industry, trade and a range of services, with each village having its own characteristics though they all prove hospitable hosts.
The availability of food and accommodation and the possibilities at every location for recreation and entertainment make hopping between the villages informative as well as fun.
In every case, the residents are lively and ready to celebrate.
