The Icelandic Folk and Outsider Art Museum collects artworks by artists who have hitherto been seen as outside the cultural mainstream, often also called naïve or brut – artists who have a real and direct connection to an original creative spirit; true, unspoiled and free. The core collection consists today of about 140,000 artworks and sketches by over 300 artists, dating from the mid-19th century to the present. The Museum is located in North Iceland, on the eastern side of Eyjafjörður, just about 10 minutes’ drive from the town of Akureyri.  10 to 12 new exhibitions every year. Vökuland Guesthouse is located in the heart of the Eyjafjörður area, just 12 km from Akureyri, surrounded by the beauty of the Nordic mountains. Beautiful hiking trails are in the immediate vicinity and horse rental. We will be inside of a Mongolian Yurt in the beautiful country side in North Iceland where the power of the surrounding mountains and surrounding nature will embrace us. The frosted singing bowls and other instruments will guide you into a deep relaxing meditative acoustic journey.   The Sound Bath will start with a brief introduction of myself and the philosophy of Sound Healing and breathwork.  Participants will then be asked to set an intention for their meditation journey as they are guided through gentle meditation with the sounds of the frosted quartz singing bowl/tibetian singing bowls and progress through various frequencies and modalities. The sounds and vibrations work deep on a cellular level to realign the mind, body, and spirit. These frequencies release stress, anxiety, tension, balance the hemispheres of the brain, along with stimulating the brain waves of alpha, theta, and delta, to bring a deep sense of calm, connection with the higher self and inner peace. In the middle the healing sounds of the gong is making some entrainment. Towards the end of the Sound Bath, participants will be guided gently out of their meditation journey using Raintower and Koshi chimes. The attention will be directed to the rhythmic sounds of the vibration of nature. Concluding the ceremony, space will be held for everyone to share experiences and ask any questions. This mindfulness and embracing yurt healing experience is great for all beginner or experienced in meditation, especially anyone having trouble falling into meditation. The house is a landmark in the town of Hvammstangi. The Old Farm is built in the traditional Icelandic farmhouse style. The front facade has the friendly four gables, it is a beautiful place to stay in with families and friends. The house has a spacious foyer and consists of four bedrooms with made beds for 7 persons. Each room has a separate entryway onto the veranda and the hot-tub. There are two separate bathrooms and the larger bathroom also contains a shower and a laundry facilities. All linen and towels are embroidered with the Old Farm logo and bathrobes as well. The living room and dining room are conjoined along with an open kitchen. This lofty living area is beautifully decorated and equipped with all the comfort you need to enjoy your stay. In the kitchen you will find selected tableware for 12 persons, refrigerator with water- and icecube-maker, winecooler, microwave, electric stove and oven. Coffee, tea and chocolate are on the house. In addition to the hot-tub , the veranda bears a full size barbeque grill and gives an access to an outside dry-storage shed for skis and other larger items. The paintings on the walls are the work of a local artist, Sunna Björk. Note that this house is rented out as one unit.

The apartment is on the second floor at Syðra-Laugaland Efra where the view is fantastic the whole year around. The staircase is bright and has a handrail on one side. There is a closet for outdoor clothing on the stair landing but a shoe rack for outdoor shoes is downstairs by the entrance. The apartment has three bedrooms in different sizes. One double room with a closet and a seperate entrance. One triple room and through that room is the entrance to a smaller double room. So it‘s perfect for families or good friends. All bedrooms have high quality beds with Icelandic linens, pegs to hang the clothes and clothes stands. Twin beds, singles or doubles can be arranged. The living room is very big and has sleeping arrangements for 6 people, in two beds and two sofa beds. It also has a dining table, TV and a sitting area. The kitchen is roomy and fully equipped with a stove, dish washer, fridge and freezer, sitting area, microvawe and everything for dining and cooking. The bathroom (only one) has a bathtub with a shower and a hairdryer along with daily necesseties. On the east and south side of the house is a veranda with barbecue facilities, seating area and a hot tub that is shared with the three cottages on site.

Nest Guesthouse is located in Raufarhöfn – the Arctic Circle Village. We offer made up beds in rooms for 1 to 3 persons with shared bathroom and showers on every floor. All guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen and living room. We also offer a family apartment for 2 to 3 persons with private kitchen, bathroom and shower. There is a marked path which takes you along a circular route of about 7 km of easy walking. The Leader-sheep center in Svalbarð in Þistilfjörður. The Leader-sheep breed and Icelandic sheep herding have been joined by unbreakable bonds since the beginning of settlement in Iceland. With its resiliency, intelligence and exceptional leadership qualities the Leader-sheep has repeatedly proven its worth and value, especially regarding sheep grazing in earlier times. The Northern Þingeyjarsýsla Heritage Museum two kilometers from the village of Kópasker, this museum presents a unique collection of local objects showing daily life in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Welcome to guesthouse Narfastadir. guesthouse Narfastadir are at road nr. 1 in Reykjadalur valley 5 km. south of the small village Laugar and close to lake Myvatn and the whale watching capital Husavik. The main building is a former sheep-stable and a barn which have been converted into elegant and comfortable facilities for tourists and the old farmhouse are also a guesthouse and has been renewed for that purpose. The old house was build in 1907 (front house made of timber) and 1925 (back house made of cement).banner2During summer we offer our famous dinner buffet with variety of fish and meat dishes as well as vegetable and side dishes.
