easyJet offers direct flights to Akureyri in North Iceland from London Gatwick.
This is the first time the airline operates this route, offering a whole new chance to travel in Iceland in wintertime. A wide range of connecting flights is available to and from London Gatwick, making North Iceland an ideal winter destination. Flights are scheduled twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Edelweiss continues summer flights in 2024
Starting in June 2024, Edelweiss Air will operate flights from Zurich to Akureyri. Offering weekly departures, the airline will fly to Akureyri until August 2024. The airline also flies to Keflavík, making it possible to combine flights from the two airports.

Travel agencies
The Swiss travel agency Kontiki, is now offering travel packages to North Iceland in February and March 2024. These trips will include direct flights from Zurich to Akureyri. Kontiki and Visit North Iceland have been working together on projects for sustainable tourism development. In May 2022 a seminar was held in Akureyri with the local tourism companies and Kontiki participating. This work has now resulted in Kontiki offering winter trips to North Iceland.
