Various hiking trails can be found all over North Iceland. Below you can see a map with different hiking trails. General information can be found by clicking on each route. The level of difficulty is then defined as can be seen below. Many companies offer guided tours and they are published below the hiking trails.
Easy
Good and smooth paths are usually without significant obstacles or difficulties.
Moderate
Paths that can include longer rough and difficult sections and obstacles such as unbridged streams and smaller rivers, loose gravel, high ascents, etc.
Challenging
Paths that include obstacles and difficulties such as larger unbridged rivers, steep slopes, and cliffs. Can be dangerous in bad conditions.

Dimmuborgir, Mývatn
Dimmuborgir have excellent walking paths making it suitable for all and very good wheelchair access as well.
