In Grimstunga we have 4 houses. Three of them are with rooms, that share bathrooms, and some have hand basins. Rooms for two, three or four people. Cooking facilities. Sitting rooms with TVs. Free Wi-Fi. The fourth house is in Hólssel, 6 km (3.7 mi) from Grímstunga, by the route Dettifossvegur (route no. 864).There are rooms with En-suite/private bathroom. Reception is at Grímstunga, but breakfast for those staying at Hólssel is served on site. Hólssel is 20 km (12.5 mi) from waterfall Dettifoss.

Ólafsfjörður offers ideal conditions for winter sports. The neighbouring mountains and valleys offer excellent terrain for snowmobile touring and the environment is particulary well-situated to skiing. In Ólafsfjörður there is one lift, 600 m, well suitable for beginners and professionals alike. Specially laid tracks extent pratically all over the town, and The Ólafsfjörður Skiing Association organises cross-country excursions anround the vicinity. The Tindaöxl skiing area is equipped with ski lifts and excellent slalom tracks. Snowboarding enthusiasts have large pristine areas at their disposal. Refreshments are on offer in the Skiing Association Lodge, wich is also equipped with attic sleeping bag accomodation for up to 25 persons.

Osar is located on the Vatnsnes Peninsula, 25 km north of road no. 1. In the recent years the hostel has been completely renovated.Ósar ocean beach is full of life. Seals abound and also eider ducks and other birds, and the rock Hvítserkur, which resembles a prehistoric Dinosaur, is within walking distance from the Hostel.  The unspoiled nature, peaceful environment and a variety of recreation opportunities makes Ósar an ideal stop in an Iceland tour. In only about 5 min walk you are in unusually close contact with nature. Here guests can see a number of different birds and one of Iceland´s biggest colonies of seals , swimming only a few meters from the beach.   A superb place for nature lovers

Bakkaflöt is a family-owned company that started in 1987. We offer a variety of accommodations. We have a 22 room guesthouse that offers cozy cabin with en suite bathrooms, double or triple rooms with shared bathrooms. We also have two bigger cottages with cooking facilities.  We have a small heated swimming pool outside and two hot tubs. Family rafting:  Scenic ride down the majestic Glacial Canyon. We´ll make a stop for a delicious hot chocolate from a geothermal spring and another stop to jump off a cliff. Great experience for the whole family.  East glacial river, class 4. Extreme rafting:  East glacial river is by far one of the best 1-day rafting rivers in Europe. Enjoy a delicious traditional Icelandic meat soup after the tour. The Extrem rafting is a total bliss and we can guarantee you will get wet.  Sit on top kayak trip down the river Svartá is an enjoyable and scenic nature ride in the midnight sun.  On site: accommodation in cabins and our guesthouse, camping site, small swimming pool, hot tubs, restaurant and bar.   

 Dæli Guesthouse (Holiday farm since 1988) offers a variety of accommodation and activities for both groups and the individual traveller, 16 twin/double rooms with private facilities, Cottage "Eyrin",  sleeping accommodation for up to 24 person in 6 small huts and camping ground.  In The Service House you will find a kitchen, a large dining room and WC/showers. Hveravellir is one of Iceland’s most popular Oasis in the highlands whether your drive hike or ride the Icelandic horse. Akureyri Backpackers is a hostel, located on the main shopping street of Akureyri. We offer budget accommodation for travelers from all over the world. Our dorms are 4, 6 and 8 bedded and our private rooms host 2-3 persons. You can choose between bringing your own sleeping bag or renting a duvet wrapped in a cozy cover. We offer cosy accommodation at a fair price on a traditional sheep farm.  The accommodation is available in a renovated older guest house. Fully made-up beds or sleeping bag accommodation. Hlid offers different kind of accommodation: Guesthouse / Hraunbrún: Sleeping bag accommodation in four beds rooms without private bathroom.  Shared well equipped kitchen, dining room, wc and showers. Small huts: Private huts - 6 huts, 5  9m2 each with two beds, facilites - wc and kitchen available 50m away.  Big huts-Apartments:  Summer houses - 50m2, sleeping 6 persons in 2 bedrooms and a sleeping attic, bathroom, kitchen and a livingroom with beautiful vista over the Mývatn area. Hotel rooms:  Guesthouse - 9 double rooms with private facilities. Small lounge for making tea and coffee all day. Camping place:  The Hlíð camping is conveniently located on the northern shore of lake Mývatn, by the village of Reykjahlid. It´s only 5 minutes walk from the Tourist info and supermarket. From the camping there is fantastic view over the lake and the lavafield. We offer good facilities for tents and trailers and electricity is accessible. Warm showers are free of charge for guests and laundry service is available as well. Hlid offers all kinds of entertainment, such as bike rental, playground for children and barbeque.  It´s perfect  to rent a bike for the day and ride around the lake. The distance is 37km, mostly flat road, with great views of the area, lake and birds. There is also the possibility of hiking in the area. There are many different trails, for short or longer walks. We provide you all necessary information for these hikes. There is an information center for tourists in the area that is well worth visiting. There is also a swimming pool, nature baths, golf course , cafés, restaurants and bars.  

Dalvík is only a 35 min. drive from Akureyri and has one of the best skiing areas in the country. There is a wide variety of runs suitable for all members of the family, one of the slopes being floodlit and 1,200m long.The area is equipped with a new snow production system which ensures better snow conditions. Akureyri HI Hostel has been a part of the Hostelling International since it opened 1967. The Hostel has been run by the same family for all these years and they all share the same passion for the Hostel, to welcome travelers from all over the world and make them feel comfortable and enjoying their stay. Accommodation Information The Hostel offers different types of rooms; mixed dorm rooms, single room, twin with and without bath, and group / family rooms for three to six persons. Two fantastic summerhouses in the garden, each house has kitchen, living room and bathroom, each can accommodating eight persons (twin room, four person room and upstairs two beds) plus hot tub is included in the price. We also have a small cabin with three beds, toilet and a sink. All rooms include; reading light over every bed, table & chairs, mirror, TV, hairdryer, free Wi-Fi and pillows & duvets. All rooms come with access to two kitchens that are well equipped for cooking and good dining rooms. There is a TV room with tables, chairs and a sofa. We offer sleeping bag accommodation, bed linen can be provided and made up beds. Laundry is possible at the hostel. There is a big outside area with tables, chairs and BBQ. Akureyri HI Hostel is located in the center of the town, conveniently close to the city center. All places needed are in a walking distance; 10 min walk to the city center, 5 min walk to Glerártorg shopping center, 1 min walk to Bónus supermarket (the cheapest in Akureyri), 5 min to a bakery and 7 min to local’s favorite restaurant. Most of other main attractions of the town are within walking distance. In Akureyri there are city buses that are for free. They go past the Hostel every hour. Akureyri H.I. Hostel is the perfect place to stay on to visit all the pearls that mother nature offers in the North, like Lake Mývatn which is known for its natural beauty – landscape, animals and bird life, Goðafoss one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland, Dettifoss the most powerful waterfall in Europe, Húsavík known as the whale watching town, Ásbyrgi an enclosed canyon, about 3,5 km long and 1,1 km wide, surrounded by cliffs which reach as high as 100 m. Skagafjörður where rafting can be done, Grímsey where people get the change to step over the polar circle line and see all the beautiful bird life. And many other pearls that north Iceland has to offer.

Kerlingarfjöll are one of the natural pearls of Iceland, located in the highlands, between the Glaciers Hofsjökull and Langjökull. The area is accessible by road no. 35 (Kjölur road) from both north and south, from Kjölur road the access is via road F347.The Kerlingarfjöll area, being area of approx. 100 KM2 is a mountain cluster, rising 500 – 700 M above the surrounding central highlands plains. The mountains are standing on a large system of calderas, which was active some 70.000 – 300.000 years ago. The area can be described as a cluster of rugged mountains with steep hills and sharp lines, that due to their age have not been affected by the eroding forces of the nature. Within the mountain cluster there are geothermal areas that are amongst the larger in Iceland. Rhyolite and obsidian are types of rocks that characterize the appearance of some of the mountains, making the area extremely colourful and heaven for those who wish to hike or spend their time in landscape not frequently seen elsewhere.The Kerlingarfjöll highland resort, offering accommodation ranging from sleeping bag in dorms, to accommodation in double bed rooms with private facilities and shower. The resort has fully licenced restaurant. The camping site is located on the banks of the river Asgardsa in the valley Asgardur that is in the northern part of the mountains. The site has showers and a steam bath. The steam bath is located 1km from the camping site. Also there is a playground for the kids.

The house is about 270 square meters and can accomodate about 110 persons in seats.  Tables and chairs are available.  The house has four toilets, kitchen with a dishwasher, refridgerator, stove and a coffee maker. The house has mattresses and accommodation license for up to 20 persons. Around the house is a big garden that is the camp site. All this and more to be found on our menu. Möðrudalur is the highest settled farm in Iceland, 469 meters ( 1548 feet) above sea-level. It has been inhabited since early settlement in Iceland. Möðrudalur has served as a presbytery for centuries. The builder of the church in Möðrudalur was Jón A. Stefánsson (1880 - 1971). He was a great farmer as well as an artist and the altarpiece is made by himself. His son was Stefán ,,Stórval" Jónsson (1908 - 1994), a one of a kind character and a painter. The panorama view from the farm is interesting in many ways - judge for yourself. For campers, and RVs we offer stays throughout the year depending on weather. Last but not least we sell Icelandic woolens and handicrafts made by local people as well as some snacks.
