With over 20 years of experience guiding ski touring groups in the area, we extended our programs in 2008 to heli skiing, becoming the first heli ski operation in Iceland. Arctic Heli Skiing specializes in custom made exploratory Helicopter skiing adventures in the Troll Peninsula in Iceland and Greenland where we invite you to join us for a grand adventure of first descents, Northern Lights and skiing all the way down to the ocean, basking in the rays of the midnight sun. As Iceland’s premier heli ski operation we guarantee you that your safety and pleasure is our highest priority. The potential for world class downhill skiing here is mind blowing, with vertical descents of up to 1500m or almost 5000ft. Our vast terrain covers more than 4000 square kilometers, or 1500 square miles of breathtaking Arctic mountains with terrain that suits every skiers ability be it extreme couloirs or wide-open glaciers. Our position just below the Arctic Circle with the mountains rising straight out of the sea allows for a skiing experience of a lifetime, skiing from summit to sea shore.
Check out our web page for great photos, videos and articles on skiing in Iceland. Our season starts at the end of February when we typically experience powder conditions and continues until the end of June with generally excellent corn skiing. The fact that the Troll Peninsula is surrounded by the Arctic Ocean makes for incredible opportunities for skiing right down to the ocean on stable coastal snowpack but also adds the excitement of Arctic weather and conditions. Throw in a mix of Northern lights, midnight sun, volcanic activity, hot springs, lava fields and a unique Viking culture and you will find that Iceland is a true adventure skiing destination. We look forward to seeing you in the mountains.

Whale watching is a popular activity for visitors to Iceland, and the company’s operations have grown fast.
The fishing village of Húsavík is now renowned for its spectacular whale watching opportunities, and Skjálfandaflói bay is one of only a handful of places in the world where the blue whale, the largest mammal on earth, is known to visit regularly.
North Sailing’s whale watching tours have given Húsavík the reputation of being Europe’s whale watching capital. One of North Sailing’s most ambitious goals is to empower sustainable tourism, and the company has put a lot of care and skill into renovating and maintaining its fleet of old oak fishing-ships.
First company in the world to offer carbon-free whale watching
On July 12th, 2015, the renovated schooner Opal, with its uniquely designed electrical system, was launched. The launching marked a world-wide first: Offering carbon-free whale watching tours by using only wind and electricity for propulsion.
In 2016, North Sailing started offering carbon-free whale watching tours, called Silent Whale Watching allowing passengers to experience whale watching on a completely different level. A breathtaking aspect of the experience is listening to the whales.
North Sailing has received a number of awards and acknowledgements for its eco-friendly operations and innovative new designs, for example it received the Environmental Recognition of the Icelandic Tourist Board for the second time in 2015, as well as being awarded the silver prize at the coveted World Responsible Tourism Awards for “Best Innovation for Carbon Reduction”.

Scandinavia Travel North aims to meet traveller´s needs by organising full service itineraries that are inspiring, exploring and allow you to enjoy the moment. And give you the opportunity to improve competence, wellbeing and self-awareness.
We like the way of slow travel, and remind you that travelling in Iceland should take time as here are so many different places and ways to experience the vast beauty of Iceland.
In addition to leisure tours and nature based tours, sightseeing tours and activities, we like to offer theme tours adjusted for special interests. For example; geology tours, birdwatching, photography tours, energy (sustainability) as well as food and culture tours.
We are happy to assist you with all aspects of your trip, whether it is educational programs, incentive, group, business or individual travelling, as long as it is within frame of ability and profession of our network.
Even though Iceland and the weather can be bit unsure and adventurous in part, we like to express various seasons, with it´s different character and charm. We have more than the rest. Six seasons – More opportunities. More reason to visit again....and again.
For tour operators and travel agents we offer complete service for land arrangements in Iceland.
Scandinavia Travel North is a fully licenced Travel Agency.
