South of the farm Sandar lies trail no.702. It is possible to drive the trail down to the beach, although smaller cars cannot do it. This is an easy walk where the sea air fills your lungs, the birds sing in your ears and the view over Strandafjöll mountains is breath-taking. The occasional seal might say hello to the hikers.

Notes on the walking route
The route goes by an eider-duck nesting site, which means April to June can be tricky for walking, so we recommend walking along the beach when returning.
Terrain is sand beach and gravel path.
Please do not walk outside of marked paths and show consideration for flora and fauna.
