Þrælsfell is about 895 m high and the highest peak on Vatnsnesfjall mountain. Please make sure to get permission for the farmers at Helguhvammur before proceeding by vehicle to Káraborg.
It’s possible to drive up to Káraborg and possibly even further east by trail, but the trail there has a small river that can be tricky to cross. Walk along the trail, which then turns north. The route is relatively easy, but the mountain is very steep in parts and can be dangerous in low visibility. There is a cairn at the top and the view is spectacular.
