Sel – Hótel Mývatn is the ideal base for discovering the natural wonders of Lake Mývatn and its spectacular surroundings in North Iceland. The hotel features 54 beautifully furnished rooms designed to provide comfort and relaxation. Each room includes a private bathroom, TV, telephone, work desk, and tea and coffee making facilities. Sel – Hótel Mývatn is also home to its own craft brewery! - Mývatn Öl, where beer is brewed on site and served in the hotel’s restaurant and bar. Guests can book guided brewery & tasting tour on myvatnol.is which departs from the hotel reception. Our on-site restaurant offers à la carte dining year-round, a seasonal summer buffet and a daily breakfast buffet that is always included when you stay with us.

Across the road from the hotel guests will find the Visitor Center, which is open daily and features a wonderful exhibition showcasing the area’s fascinating history and its truly unique nature. Knowledgeable park rangers are always on hand to answer questions and share insights about the landscape, wildlife, geology and local culture, helping visitors gain a deeper understanding of this remarkable region.

Just by the hotel, during the summer months, guests can also enjoy a charming ice cream shop run by the farm. The farmers produce their own delicious homemade ice cream using fresh milk from their cows, a genuine local treat and a perfect stop on a warm summer day.
