Since its founding in 1995, North Sailing has been a pioneer of sustainable tourism, as well as being the first company in Iceland to offer regular whale watching tours. The launching marked a world-wide first: Offering carbon-free whale watching tours by using only wind and electricity for propulsion.  In 2016, North Sailing started offering carbon-free whale watching tours, called Silent Whale Watching allowing passengers to experience whale watching on a completely different level. A breathtaking aspect of the experience is listening to the whales.  North Sailing has received a number of awards and acknowledgements for its eco-friendly operations and innovative new designs, for example it received the Environmental Recognition of the Icelandic Tourist Board for the second time in 2015, as well as being awarded the silver prize at the coveted World Responsible Tourism Awards for “Best Innovation for Carbon Reduction”.  North Sailing offers a variety of exciting tours, such as whale watching tours in Hjalteyri/Árskógssandur in Eyjafjörður (approx. 15-minute drive from Akureyri), evening tours in Reykjavík onboard the amazing hybrid-electric Ópal, week-long expeditions in Scoresby Sund on the east coast of Greenland, and so much more.   Day Tours: Húsavík Original Whale Watching (1 March - 30 November)- Duration: 3 hrs Silent Whale Watching (1 May - 30 September) - Duration: 3 hrs Whales & Sails (1 June - 10 August)- Duration: 3 hrs Whales & Puffins (16 April - 19 August) - Duration: 3,5 hrs) Whale Watching from Eyjafjörður (1 June - 30 September) - Duration 2,5 hrs  Experience Greenland- Season: July 26th - September 13th 2023 Specially designed tours on request.

GeoSea
The GeoSea sea baths enable you to enjoy nature in a unique manner. Thanks to the underground heat, the seawater in the baths is warm and comfortable and the mineral-rich water will caress your skin. While the warm sea works its miracles, you can enjoy the view of the mountain range to the west, Skjalfandi Bay beneath the cliffs and the Arctic Circle itself on the horizon. For centuries, the geothermal heat north of Húsavík has been known to residents, who have utilized it for bathing and washing. Drilling for hot water at Húsavíkurhöfði in the mid-20th century revealed water that turned out to be hot seawater, too rich in minerals to be suitable for heating houses. Instead of letting this hot water go to waste, an old cheese barrel was installed at Húsavíkurhöfði. There, Húsavík residents could enjoy the health benefits of bathing in hot seawater. Those suffering from skin conditions such as psoriasis have found relief by bathing in the water, which is at an optimal temperature of 38°-39°C.  The town of Húsavík sits on the eastern shore of Skjálfandaflói (Shaky Bay), known around the world for its rich wildlife and variety of whales. Húsavík is the largest town in Northeast Iceland and a center of commerce and services. It is the site of the first house built in Iceland, in the year 860, by Swedish Viking Garðar Svavarsson. Húsavík is conveniently located for day trips to most of the major attractions in Iceland. From Húsavík it is less than an hour’s drive to Lake Mývatn, Ásbyrgi Canyon, Krafla Caldera and Goðafoss Falls.  Opening hours:September-May, open every day 12am-10pmJune-August, open every day 12am-12pm
