The Icelandic Winter Games will be held at Hlíðarfjall Ski Resort in Akureyri, the next weekend. The IWG is now returning after a one year pause, but they were first held in 2014. Contestants from all over the world are expected, from the USA, Canada and Austria to name a few nationalities.

The main event this year will be the Sled Dogs Bonefight, a race on snowskates down a slope that is full of challenges. The contestants line up together and whoever comes first down and over the finish line wins! In the competition there will be some former world champions and more exciting contestants, so we do expect this to be a spectacle.

Also, there will be a snowmobile dragrace, snowmobilecross, a mountain bike race down the ski slopes, snow volleyball tournament and a freeride competition on both skis and snowboards.
