A good place to begin this walk is at the former school building. From there, follow Bæjarás street and continue downhill towards the coast to Hafnartangi, a scenic viewpoint by the old harbour. The viewpoint offers fine views across Bakkaflói Bay, and on a clear day Gunnólfsvíkurfjall mountain can be seen rising prominently in the distance.
From the harbour, continue along the edge of the village before turning right at the last residential houses onto a gravel track. The route then follows the football field and continues above the campsite before returning to the starting point, completing the loop.
