The walk begins at the parking area by the Christmas House in Hrafnagil. From there, follow the path through the garden and into the neighbourhood. Turn right at Laugartröð and continue past the community centre, then follow a path that crosses a small stream and climbs by steps to Aldísarlundur.
Aldísarlundur is a peaceful woodland oasis above the village and serves as an outdoor classroom for local schoolchildren. Continue north through the grove to a wooden footbridge, where the sound of the waterfall can be heard from above.
For those wanting a longer walk, a trail leads uphill from the bridge along the river gorge to a rocky viewpoint with excellent views of the waterfall. This section requires extra care, as loose gravel can make the path slippery and the gorge edge should be approached with caution.
Return through Aldísarlundur, taking time to visit a bench further south on the trail that offers lovely views across the surrounding countryside. Continue back to the bridge and head east toward Hrafnagil Primary School. Pass below the swimming pool, then turn left through the campsite parking area and onto the road through the neighbourhood.
Follow the road north back to the Christmas House, where the walk ends.
