Ólafsfjörður - Town Walk Hiking trail
Easy stroll around Ólafsfjörður on this pleasant loop walk starting at the sports centre.

The walk begins at the sports centre, swimming pool, and campsite. Follow the path above the pond, an area often rich in birdlife, and take a moment to view the outdoor photo exhibition at the community hall commemorating the 1988 mudslide.
Continue north through the village, turning left at Klara’s Café towards the shoreline. Follow the coast southwest, with the option of a short detour across the bridge to explore the sandy beach. Otherwise, continue along Ægisbyggð to the western edge of the village for fine coastal views.
The route then climbs gently to Menntaskólinn á Tröllaskaga before returning to the starting point.
This easy walk combines local history, birdlife, and beautiful views of the fjord and surrounding mountains.
