The Traveling Viking is a family-run tour operator offering tours with local tour guides comfortable cars, highly qualified drivers and guides, humor, good spirit, and knowledge of North Iceland. We are based in Akureyri, North Iceland.
We specialize in smaller groups and tailor-made tours, however, no group is too big for The Traveling Viking. The Traveling Viking was founded in the year 2008 and has ever since focused on personal service, slow travel experience along with developing winter tourism in and from Akureyri North Iceland. We have an excellent variety of tour options all year round. Like Lake Mývatn, Waterfall Dettifoss, Northern light tours, and meet local people. We also have winter activities such as snowshoeing and ice fishing, snowmobiling, kayaking, etc.
We do focus on sustainability in our tours and by following our sustainability policy, we make sure that our impact is as little as possible on the environment and that local communities benefit from our visit.
